A: Before starting, I was a bit nervous about how the communication would go between the psychologist and me, and whether we’d have any trouble connecting. I was also curious to see if talking to a psychologist from another country, with a different culture, would bring a different perspective.
A: I felt very understood by the psychologist and didn’t notice any cultural differences.
A: I’ve had therapy with a Danish psychologist before and felt that it was exactly the same, except that we spoke in English. I felt that the psychologist understood me and vice versa. If I forgot a word, she was good at suggesting alternatives, showing that she understood me. She sometimes used professional terms that could be hard to understand, but she could explain them in simpler words, so it was fine.
A: She wanted me to prepare some examples to work from in the next session, that would help identify patterns in my behavior to focus on. I found the approach very appropriate for my situation.
A: Overall, I am very satisfied and could imagine using this method again if available. I liked the distance between us and being able to talk from my own safe space. The least appealing part was that the session times were either very early or very late in the day.
A: I felt more comfortable talking that way.
A: It worked really well with the link, I went straight in and the psychologist let me into the meeting room. I could see myself using therapy in that way again because it was straightforward, very simple, and as I said earlier, I can sit in my most safe surroundings.
A: I was assigned a psychologist for these sessions, but I was able to read some info about her and her work before we started, it was very nice! The Danish psychologists are a little difficult to figure out. Who best suits your needs.
